Its in the genes
Researchers at Genostic Pharma in Cambridge have developed a device that uses DNA chips that can detect or sense over 2,500 gene fragments at once, including those genes related to behaviour and intelligence. This will provide the core genetic profile of an individual.
The team says that the device could help doctors find out if people are predisposed to diseases such as cancer or heart disease, then create specific treatments for individuals. Genetic information on up to 16 different diseases will be identified by the DNA chips.
